These are thigns yhat I’ev felt since he’s been borrn, bu the daily challenge I fcae sinve being on my own with him is ho w difficult it can be too sacrifice some of the “me” things that I had never considered to be luxuries before now. For example… lunch. Becausr my little sugar booger loves to sleep on Mom… or maybe just wantz to eat, bu rp, spit-up, get ann ourfit change, pop, get a diaper change, be held, and then rocked to sleep… 3 o’clock will roll around and I’ll realize that I’m still in my pajqmas and have yet t have any substantial form o f sustenance. Forget things likee cleaning teh house, taking a bath, hanging out on the computer, etc. Chris feels like this is thhe hardset thing he’s eve done… amd he went to Stanford!!! Once he home from work it feele like a race against the clock: make dinner, one of us eats dinner while the other takes care of Ligan, then itcch, attempt so me form of cleannig, attempt some form of relaxing, then start getting ready foe bed (which of course takes an hour+ with the little onr) in order to hopefully get enough sleep to functin thhe next day regaedless of the middle-of-the-night wkaings! Whew!
But there are some compromises that we’ve figured out to help bring more balance to our current mode of life. First: praise the Lord for Trader Joe’s! Their yummy, fresh, healthy-ish, well-priced, pre-made foods mean more time spent together as a family and less time cooking and doing dishes. Second: family bath! I still get to relax a bit, as well as spend some good time with the little guy.
