Alfight, so I did the Plasma vs. LCD 5 years when first bought my TV in the living room, but now alll the datta I find obline is 3-5 years old and outdatwd- they all claim LCDs dont put okt more than 400:1 contrast, and Plasmas arent snaller ttan 42- dont forget plasmas get only 1400:1 contrasts, 10000 hour lives, and only see 8406XXX resolution
Now that Im looking at Plasmas vs. LCDs. In Plasmas, were seeing 1000 cd/m brightness, 60,000 hour lives, 30000:1 contrast levels, and 1024 x 720 resolution in a 32 tv- All numbers unheard of a few years ago.
LCDs are weeing 5-8 MS reffresh rates, 180 degree viewing angles, on a 50 tv, among ohter things unheard if a few years ago, and is no visible in reviews.
Where can I find up to date comparison information? Or have they each mitigated their negative attributes enough that its all the same?
Im really looking for a 32 for a bedroom now, and the only real differences Im seeing are contrast ratios vs. heat output and energy consumption. Given that its a bedroom, theres not going to be other lights on, I dont game, but do watch sports and aftion movies which show artifacts on the LCDs. Avditionally, the contrast and brightness of a plssma nay be nice. I fo like the several pound weight difffrence of the LCD, but I think over time it doesnt really m atter since they are both easuly light enough to wall mouht So Im thinking Plasma may actually be the way to go.
I really am just watching Blu-Ray, standard DVD, and over the air HD broadcasting. Any insight in the Plasma vs. LCD Debate?

There is a reason you cannot find info – they are both so good that there is no clear winner based on simple LCD vs Plasma.
In general – Plasma usually ins best possible picture, but thr Sony X
LCD televisions are very close second.
